The Hesperus Ski Patrol is a not for profit organization with the goal to promote, encourage, and support a positive skiing experience in the community. We have been united as a ski patrol for nearly 50 years. Through this time, we have seen the ski industry expand and change in every way imaginable; yet, we have remained virtually the same. We are still a small, friendly, "family" of patrollers dedicated to our love of skiing, snowboarding, snow, and keeping you safe while you enjoy these things with your friends and loved ones.

Every year, the Hesperus Ski Patrol hosts a number of community events. Our 3-day Avalanche Awareness Class allows students to gain insight into the dangers of avalanches through class work and hands-on skills training. We also host an annual community ski swap at the La Plata County Fair Grounds. In this event, anyone can buy or sell almost anything snow sport related. This year boasted the 48th Annual Ski Swap.

Whether you ski, sled, snowboard, or just love the feel of a warm cup of cocoa on a cool wintry day, we encourage you to visit our little ski area. We, as the Hesperus Ski Patrol, look forward to assisting you if you are ever in need.
